The best time to book your newborn photographer is while you’re still pregnant.
I know you have a long to-do list before your babe enters this world…
- Find a doctor
- Decorate the nursery
- Register for parenting classes
- Learn how to buckle that car seat
- Find a childcare center for your baby
I’m sure the list goes on and on.
Surely finding a newborn photographer can wait until later, right?
If portraits of your baby – his tiny fingers and toes, the innocent facial expressions, his curled up body – are IMPORTANT to you, then, no, you shouldn’t put off booking your newborn photo session.

- IT GIVES YOU TIME TO PLAN FINANCIALLY.
Babies are expensive! Hospital bills, diapers, etc add up. Tossing in last-minute newborn portraits means you might have to settle with a cheap photographer who you don’t really like. If you select your photographer early, you have months to save for the photographer (and that gorgeous heirloom album!) that you really want.

Booking in advance ensures you have a plan and that baby will be photographed within the first two weeks of life. Not to mention, your photographer can plan their schedule too!

If baby is arriving tomorrow, obviously we won’t have time to capture that pregnancy glow.
