Moms are usually the record-keepers of the family; the ones behind the camera instead of IN photos. It’s a sad fact because you’re so busy with everything that motherhood entails. But as you’re documenting history, remember that photos of YOU need to exist too!
1. Your children will want photos of you.
When your kids grow up and become parents, then grandparents, and you have moved on to a different world, they will CHERISH these photos of you with them! They will want photos of you to show their kids and to remember you by.

2. Hating how you look is not an excuse
We are our own worst critics. I’ll bet everyone has something about their bodies they want to change. Don’t wait until you “lose 20 pounds,” or “get a fresh cut and color,” or whatever. Be IN your family’s photos NOW.

3. This is your legacy
Think about the older folks in your life … which will be you someday. Do you have a photo of your mom, your grandma, your great-grandma? A beautiful multi-generational portrait of the women in your lineage? If not, does that make you sad? This is how your children will feel if they can’t look back on amazing photos like this:

4. You are the rock of your family
I know it takes two, but I also know women do a lot for their families. You are important! Without you, your household probably couldn’t function! 🙂 So yah, you deserve to exist in photos with your children.

5. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed
No one wants to think about death, but there are so many women battling things like cancer and dementia. My grandma died from Alzheimer’s and I wish we had a better photo of all of us while she was still coherent. Take a moment to think about what’s really important: that never-ending to-do list, or booking a motherhood photo session so you have these memories forever!

Imagine 20, 40 years from now…
Your babies are all grown up, and you have photos like these to look back on:
