Why 9? Because I like odd numbers!

If you’re searching for the perfect newborn portrait photographer in Green Bay, Wisconsin who will safely handle your baby, capture your new growing family the way you want it, make sure to do your research first!
Here’s a few questions to consider before booking your baby’s first photoshoot:

1. Have you taken any workshops or had any training in newborn photography safety?
Your baby’s safety is the number one priority during the session. RP Photography has invested in years of workshops and has photographed more than 100 babies to gain the confidence and skills necessary for newborn photography. I know how to soothe babies, safely pose them and when to stop if they just aren’t having it.

2. Are you infant-CPR certified?
God-forbid a health emergency happens during our session, the photographer you choose should at the very least, know what to do in the event baby is choking or turning blue! I have a Red Cross certification from the American Heart Association in Green Bay in adult and infant CPR.
3. Are you insured?
In the event an accident were to happen, your photographer should have small business liability insurance. Any newborn photography business should have insurance; this means you are dealing with a professional photo studio and not just a hobbyist. RP Photography is fully insured.

4. When should I schedule my newborn portrait session?
As soon as you know you’re pregnant! I know that seems extreme, but the sooner you reserve your session, the more time you have to save for it and plan! And when do we photograph baby? I prefer to photograph newborns within the first 1-3 weeks of life before baby starts stretching out, then he may not curl up into those adorable poses we love so much.

5. How do you determine what poses you’ll do, what props you’ll use, etc?
The short answer: whatever baby let’s us do. Baby always runs the show! If you have specific pose requests, please tell your photographer ahead of time, but they should never guarantee certain poses just in case baby doesn’t want to do them. All babies are different!
I set up everything ahead of time using information you provide on an online questionnaire like color preferences and then plan my workflow. However, if baby is not sleepy, has tummy issues or doesn’t like being wrapped for example, we will adjust that workflow to only do poses that baby is happy and comfortable in.
What kind of poses will we do? Check out the tiny humans portfolio page HERE. 🙂

6. Does the photographer have positive online reviews/testimonials?
If you have a great experience somewhere, you want to shout it from the rooftops so your friends and family can also enjoy the same experience right? RP Photography has more than 65 Google reviews…not to toot my horn or anything! 😉

7. What if my baby has jaundice or acne?
A professional photographer will have Photoshop so you all look flawless in your images. I’ve invested in professional retouching software so not only will baby have smooth, soft-looking skin, YOU will also have bright eyeballs and smooth skin too!
8. Do you provide hair and makeup for moms?
Great question! You’re probably exhausted from lack of sleep with this new little one, and may be afraid of that showing in your portraits. I love pampering moms before photo sessions so they feel comfortable and look confident in front of the camera! My HMU gal will come to my studio for $150 and you can relax with a complimentary coffee, wine, soda or sparkling water.
9. When do I see my images?
For your convenience, I will come to your house the following week after your photo session for the reveal and ordering appointment. My laptop is hooked up to your tv where you’ll see a slideshow of your images, pick out your favorites and place your print order. Refer to the INVESTMENT PAGE for more info on what’s included.
Your hand-designed heirloom album or your wall art like canvases, are then personally delivered to your front door so you don’t have to worry about when, where and how to print your images. You don’t have to do a thing!
